Virtual private server - VPS - a compromise between the control and security of dedicated servers and price of a shared hosting account. VPS is also preferred when the customer doesn't want to host his site along with hundreds of sites on a shared service. For better security, more control and assured resources at reasonable rates, VPS is getting more popular. One issue issue that stops many from going for a VPS is the time and effort required for server management. But there are also hosts that offer managed VPS at a reasonable rate. VPS servers can cost anything between $20 - $100, depending on the configurations and server management.
