When it comes to the data center, there are few hosts that come near thePlanet in size. The numbers are huge – six data centers(2 in Houston, 4 in Dallas), serving 15.7 million web sites, 250+ GB/s transit capacity to seven Tier 1 backbone networks and so on.
One thing is clear – thePlanet has one of the biggest and best data center. If Hostgator and a number of managed dedicated hosts are happy with thePlanet, they should be really good.

Just like most well known hosts, thePlanet offer 24/7 support via toll free lines and support ticket. Support is known to be fast and efficient, but if you are on a self managed plan – do not expect any help in third party applications and issues.

Low price is definitely one of USP of thePlanet. However, price for managed servers start from above $300, which is rather expensive.

Recommendation
thePlanet is highly recommended for self managed dedicated servers of any size. They are reasonably priced, hosted in one of the best data center and supported very well. You have the option to upgrade and downgrade any feature at any moment. Managed servers from thePlanet is relatively costly and we normally do not recommend it. Unless you need server management, thePlanet is a great choice.
